I saw a broker who told me Natwest don't deal with brokers but that Natwest are my best option for a new mortgage.
I then saw a "financial adviser" from Connells (isn't that just a broker?) who told me that Natwest have withdrawn all their 90% LTV mortgages and will be reintroducing them in about 2-3 weeks. She said someone at Natwest told her this on the phone and the reason is something to do with them meeting their quota on lending and trying to reduce it until the next half of the year. She told me that when they reintroduce the 90% LTVs, it will be exclusive to Connells for the first month or two, as they give them more custom than they get themselves, and not available on their website.
Sounded odd to me so I had a quick look at Natwest's website and the 90% LTVs are still advertised. So I rang Natwest, and they told me that the 90% LTVs have definitely not been withdrawn. She said they may have withdrawn them from intermediaries (she's not sure of this) but they are definitely still available from Natwest directly.
So my question is, is the Connells lady fibbing to make sure she gets her £350 fee by making me stick with her?
And is there any difference between me ringing up Natwest to apply and the broker doing it for me?

Nat west DO deal with brokers, currently their max is only 75% ltv
Direct they have 90% deals.
Not sure what you have been told by connells is true, only time will tell if they give connells preferential treatment.
At 90% you will almost certainly get a better deal through Nat west direct, rather than a broker, but having said that, there are much better deals around elsewhere than through Nat west!I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. To be honest with you, it seems a bit of a lie.
I would go elsewhere if a broker is needed. If you have good credit history and are confident go direct to natwest. Once thing to keep in mind that if you bank with Natwest you have a better chance of getting an approval.0
