I have recently got a DIP for a mortage through a broker and when I checked my credit file I noticed that he had put my address history down at my current address as 4 years.

I told the broker that I had lived at my address for more than 5 years and when I called him to ask why he did not put my correct length of time at my address.

I was told that it did not matter as long as I had been living at my address for more than 3 years.

I going to do the full mortage application soon and should I make sure that the broker puts my correct time period at my current address.

The broker also told me that when I do the full mortage application that I pay the valuation fee to him and he will them send it to the bank with my application. I have to give my card details to him is this correct?

I get annoyed with these things as well. Although the brokers know all (as they say), anything not correct makes me feel a bit odd all the times.

However it does not matter, but if I were the broker I would put full details of the address history i.e. the month and year you moved in your address etc. in your full application at least, but then I am no mortgage broker :)

It seems strange, if hes made a mistake just accept the mistake and say you will update it for the actual application - it just seems like lazyness.

I cant think of any lenders where you would pay the actual broker and they would then go on to pay the lender - that seems strange too.

The broker must have given you a KFI document with the details of the mortgage? Call the lender and see what they say about the valuation fee - its a general query so they wont need your application number or anything else.

I think the broker has requested the card details to input to the system for the lender to take payment. You will see on your statement who it was taken by, although suggest this is all fine.

The address history purely is the broker being lazy and not checking as it is over 3 years.

Unlikely to effect your application, although what other typos or lazy checking may be in there...

    Should be fine, good luck
