Hello people....

I've had a BIG kick up the bottom tonight, a DCA letter went to my parents place - it was "only" £48 for ebay fees etc and in comparison to everything else its nothing BUT its given me the kick start I need to get things sorted.

Without going into too much detail here and now (well, it is 1 in the morning) my outgoings on debt/contracts was nigh on equal my income and I have been running a shortfall of approx £200 a month and having been living on credit.

Total debt is a smidge under 7k at this point (again not a lot compared to some) and its absolutely suffocating me....

I've already punched all my details into the CCCS website and they are sending me some details of a debt management plan, so we shall see what happens.

Just to complicate stuff, I've had a change of name and not all of my creditors know yet.....

Anyways hello for the moment and more details to follow.

    Hi Miss Tamsin,

I'm pretty new here, been slowly getting my finances in order this past month!

The usual thing to do is post a SOA so people can have a look through and see where you can make cut backs to save a few quid. (There's a link in one of the sticky posts in the forum - I can't post links as a new member)

Contacting the CCCS is definately a great first step - they provide a lot of helpful information and resources.

Keep you chin up - the first step is deciding to do something about it so well done! :)

    :hello: and welcome to MSE!

The first thing to do is to post a SOA (Statement of Affairs, there's a sticky on the Debt Free Wannabe board with it in) so we can see if there are any places you can cut back on to make things easier.

You're in the right place - admitting to yourself that you need to do something is the first step, well done! :j
