That is a good price with the £40 cashback. This machine will only make espressos, however. If you want cappuccino you will have to buy an aerocinno.

I used those in a couple of hotels; one a while back wasn't working and had to be repaired, and one last week the coffee was lukewarm.

I don't know if there is a general reliability issue, but I would think that the usage in a hotel would be less than a normal home.

Also, they only make small cups (ie. Espresso); I topped one up to a larger cup and tbh it was weak (an Americano is supposed to be an Espresso + water).

OTOH, they are a nice size and a good looking unit!

We had a Magimix Nespresso (with a steam nozzle for heating/frothing) milk for six years before it needed replacing. Nespresso do offer a repair service (£59 for a manual machine, £79 for an automatic) and they give you a replacement Nespresso while yours is away for repair. We opted for a new machine, however, and, as we are used to a steam nozzle, bought a Lattissima, which is an automatic. It is a great piece of kit. We wouldn't be without one of these machines.
  • Ive just checked with a colleague on the electrical department at John Lewis and he says that the machines in hotels dont get descaled very often which results in luke warm coffee !!! yuck !!! As long as you descale your machine every 3 to 4 months at home it will make wonderful coffee !!!
