Hi all. This is my first post on the site. I will try not to confuse you with what I write as much as possible!
Basically me & my ex partner have a house together. I live in the house with our son.
I was made redundant a few months ago and I have applied for as many jobs as poss, with a few interviews and no such luck.
He has been living with his parents since we split 2yrs ago and has been helping out with the mortgage payments whilst I have been out of work. (I have asked nothing else of him inc maintenance).
His mum is really pushing him to move out & he no longer wants to help contribute towards the mortgage.
My name can't be removed from the mortgage as his credit is bad, we have a 75/25 mortgage, so if we sold the house we would owe the builders 25% of the sale. The house has been valued & we will be in negative equity by about 12k due to owing the builders there share of the sale!
My ex partner has sought advice from CAB & apprantly they have advised him bankruptcy is the best solution.
This is not what I want but I can't afford to pay for the mortgage amongst other things!
I would just like to know whether people think bankruptcy is the best option.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi,
You should take advice on your individual circs to see whether BR is right for you. You would not be able to approach the same CAB as your ex as they have a conflict of interest with you so try, for instance, National Debt line.
Still of course feel free to ask other questions, it's just we dont know enough about you to advise if BR is best for you.
