Hi,

Could anyone recommend a really good dog groomer? The ones we've gone to in the past with our previous dog almost always just ended up just shaving (not totally, but really short!) the dog because they couldn't be bothered combing the coat out properly. I'd like to find someone who really knows what they are doing and takes a pride in it. We have a Bolognese which has a really long thick coat which is beautiful and I don't want it to be ruined. We live in Belfast, but would travel a bit for someone good.

Thanks for any recommendations,

Steve.

ardnaveigh boarding kennels in antrim are really good - they really care about the animals and they are reasonable as well - i know what you mean about some places just not being bothered to comb the wee doggies and just strip them

  • Deputy dog in east belfast they are fantastic. Give them a ring and have a chat they will groom the dog the way you want not just do the lazy job that many others are guilty of!

Iveagh Vets in Banbridge.... far enough for you?!

But seriously...we have two alaskan malamute (check google) who shed their coat twice a year, and leave them into their groomer, Glen. He uses a brushing machine and takes about two black bags full of hair out of them each time! When we pick them up they are like new dogs, and he is almost as hairy as they are!! THe two dogs love visiting him too!!

We were recommended to use Groomingology around 7 years ago and have gone there ever since. The man who owns it is called Tom and is a lovely man and does a great job. Does get booked up (we would normally book our next appointment when we go each time) but I suppose that is a good sign!
His number is 94433088 and he works from his house which is off the main antrim road running between sandyknowes roundabout and templepatrick.
