Ignoring works - and thanks for the advice.

Last November, my Mum, who is in her 80s, got a Parking Charge Notice courtesy of Excel. It was for The Walk in Ebbw Vale which has been the subject of some local controversy and been discussed here before.
Long story short - they started charging for disabled drivers for whom parking was previously free. There was no publicity and the signage was of the usual standard for PPCs.
They use a CCTV system in that particular car park and there were photos on the first letter she got, as we know that's all part of the scam.
Luckily she asked my advice before contacting Excel and has ignored all their nonsense since - including the Roxburghe and Graham White rubbish. Being able to read out the content of the letters to her from this site as she got them and explain the scam was a definite help.
She was advised by friends to pay up and has taken some satisfaction in proving them wrong. Hopefully there are a few more people in the area now educated about PPCs.
It's been about three months since she last heard from them.

Thanks again.

Good news then ;) the only thing I can say is I wish xRay did a better job in their program, they got some things wrong. But the good news is that local MP has got the right idea! I work for a company up the Rassau and have run foul of excel in my company vehicle, the good news is that the fleet manager knows its a scam.

    Best wishes
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Unfortunately, you can't drop your guard quite yet. Excel have been hit hard in the courts and by the resulting bad publicity. A wounded animal is all the more dangerous. They've started trawling through their old records, and they've also started sending out bogus county court claim forms.

I'm aware of that danger but I don't think they'll risk it for that car park given the bad publicity they've had already.

That's good, but my comment about a wounded animal still stands. Simon Renshaw-Smith, the millionaire yacht-owning boss of Excel and BPA board member seems to be in self-destruct mode. Not that we have a problem with this: it's saved us so much time. Their latest con' trick with the fake court forms is illegal, not just unlawful, and completely traceable. How could they expect to get away with it?

After 3 months you might get one more letter, I think I got one last attempt after a few months of nothing. The usual scarey looking letter, but when you examine the words it says stuff like "We might ..." "Might be passed...." but nothing actually said laws were broken, courts had been contacted or anything.

Just one scarey letter. Not had anything since, which is probably now about 7 months later.

Total ordeal for me was about 8 months from parking to last ditched attempt for them to get me to break.

SRS wants to have a final pay-day before retiring off on his yacht.

Just think if a company thinks you owe a debt and knows they can probably win in court they would have taken you to court by now.
