Txtloan?
This morning I noticed a card payment taken from my account for £117 by a company called txtloan. Didn't recognise it and so looked into them and discovered that they are a "payday" loan type company.
I have never even contacted one of these sort of companies let alone borrowed through one. The 0871 number on there website doesn't get through to a real person .
I've emailed them to ask them what details they can give me. My bank have now stopped my card and are treating it as fraud. I am about to contact the police as it is possible that a member of staff may have had access to my card at some point and I think they would be the only ones allowed access to txtloan's data (?).
Anyone here experienced this sort of thing before?
Cheers,
Ash

Did you get a deposit of £100 in your account that you didn't recognise, 15 days before the £117 was taken?
Normally these companies will take payments from the account that they originally deposited into.0 -
No, nothing unusual paid into the account. The payment was a card payment rather than a DD or SO. Txtloan have finally emailed asking for my bank details etc so they can investigate. I spoke to the police yesterday as well. Don't know whether I'll ever be given a name of who took out the original loan just in case I know them.0

As far as I'm aware (haven't used one myself) they deposit in to a bank account using a sort code and account number, but take payment by debit card.
So, the money in and money out accounts could be different. I don't think there's any way they can determine whether a debit card and bank account (sort code/account number) are linked.0
