    That's really difficult to say as it depends on, what you have eaten that day - and the day before if it's a morning swim - what time of day the swim is, how you swim, and how long the swim is.

    The energy stored in your muscles (glycogen) will be enough for a good hour to 1 1/2 hour workout (again depending on the intensity), you don't
    necessarily have to 'load up' on carbs beforehand.
