I see Hmv are doing a swap shop. where you trade in old cd's and dvd'd for instore credit. Have raided all my old stuff and got rid of it. They are giving 50p credit for all cd'd and dvd's which beats Music Magpie. They are also selling the stock on so you can hunt a bargin instore as well, I purchased a lot of older cd's for my collection.:j

Sheffield town centre, not Meadowhall and Lincoln, for now.Better to remain a silent fool than speak and remove all doubt.0 -
Better to do this in Fopp if you have one near you - they give you £1 per CD so twice as good! I appreciate there aren't as many branches of Fopp though. I've used this service in the Manchester branch a few times, really good.0

Just saw this for the first time today, in Stratford Upon Avon HMV. Picked up half a dozen good as new CDs for £2 each. They had a much more eclectic selection than the regular new stock, too.
I was talking to the guy on the checkout about it, he reckoned it's a trial scheme at the moment but it's doing well and is likely to be rolled out across more stores. Anyone know of any more branches in the midlands / south east doing this?0 -
It's a good idea, but if you want pure cash and not in-store credit then probably Magpie will still be hard to beat for those worthless CDs0

Stevenage store is doing it, they only have a few shelves dedicated to it. Its surprising because its only a small store.0
