Cleaning old style

Options
I have a microwave and a deep fat fryer that are crying out for cleaning, and I don't want to spend a fortune on elaborate cleaning products unnecessarily. Soooo ...... are there any old style tips for cleaning these appliances? The fryer has a non-stick stainless steel interior, and it says you can't use anything abrasive or it will spoil the non-stick. Thanks.

With the microwave, I would turn it upside down in order to clean it more easily! Then you can get at the top of it( which is now at the bottom!) Hot soapy water and some elbow grease will do the trick.

The nonstick frypan can have some Stardrops and water in it and soaked overnight. Use a non abrasive sponge in the morning to clean it out. HTH

    Hi mrsspendalot,

This older thread should help with cleaning the deep fat fryer:

And there are some suggestions on this thread for the microwave:

when i clean my microwave i put a cup/bowl of water in there and heat it up so it steams the inside of my microwave, it loosens all the muck and i find it alot easier to wipe out

you can add a bit of lemon juice to the water-takes away any bad smells!
