can I restrip my hair colour

I have been colouring my hair myself for the last year, and I notice each time I put on a colouer the ends are getting very dark almost black. Is there something I can buy to strip out the colour and then start over again.I do vaguely remeber seeing such a product but cant remember where.
cant really afford to go to the hairdressers for my colour

my hairdresser advised me to use head and shoulders as it is harsh and will strip some of the colour. I bought a brush from ebay and now apply colour to roots only for touch up as loads of greys, oh and always but the same brand/colour so it all tones in and doesnt get build up. If you ring the helpline number on the hairdye box they are sometimes really helpful and it is usually a freephone number.

I have used the Jo Baz Hair Colour Stripper which is £5 from Semi-Chem. Worked pretty well and you can apply it twice in the one go as per the instructions. The only downside is the incredibly bad smell and you can't wash your hair for 2 days so are stuck with the smell.

Hmm, I colour my hair and use Head & Shoulders and my colour lasts and lasts... Why do hairdressers always seem to be full of old wives tales like this? It is simply not true.

Plain soap will take some (not all) of the colour out, and you could use it on the ends only. Make sure you use real soap, not Dove or other syndet bars.
