in Cutting tax
Hi im a bit unsure how to check the council tax bands,I live on a long road all the same houses but our post code goes so far then it changes.The houses there have different bands does this count,also my postal code is the same as a chemist im a C band and the chemist is a A band is this because its a shop....Thanks

Hi there, just go along to www.voa.gov.uk and put in your postcode and the ones around you it should give you some idea and then you can go from there.
As for the chemist it will be what's termed a "composite heraditament" which basically means it is a property used as a business and as a dwelling. The VOA will decide what proportion is used for the business and they will pay "rates" for that part and what is left will be given a council tax banding, and in the case by you it's A as you have said.0 -
