  • £650 entertainment, well done for admitting that

That is clearly your biggest issue, so could you list out all the things you did with the money? And we can make suggestions for how you get the same experience for less money. I can think of a few examples...

    10 x cinema tickets = £60. 5 films on Lovefilm free trial = £0.
Spa day = £100. Groupon spa vouchers can be £20ish.

Do you see what I mean?

Thanks! I will list out everything I think it went on:

Sports direct - buying sports clothes £20
    Nandos x 1 £25
    Takeaway x 2 £50
Various amazon purchases (DVDs etc) - £40
Going out for a curry with work - £45
    McDonalds when drunk - £10
    London Dungeon w/ gf - £56
    Taxis - £60
    Nandos - £10
So that's approx £316. The rest would all have been spent on alcohol and cigarettes.

Oh and edit - £70 on spa day for me & gf (which was a Travelzoo coupon)
    Barclaycard: [STRIKE]£1042[/STRIKE] £433.41 (me) [STRIKE]£996[/STRIKE] £580 (ex-OH)
    Target spend per month: £750
    Current overspend: £130/month:eek:
    Student loan: £[STRIKE]24,384.42[/STRIKE] £23,243.18

So you spent £334.00 on drink & fags, the rest you just wasted:D

Seriously £650 a month on entertainment is like, well HUGE.

How about planning just one evening out a week/fortnight & putting aside a budget for it.
Tallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!

This is a wonderful idea - I am going to try this. I am going out tomorrow (gf's leaving drinks) but this is my first night out this week. Going to try to limit myself to Friday nights only, so one night a week.

So my spend goal tomorrow is £40 - have allowed a little extra than I think I will actually spend (hoping for £30). Also, I gave up the cigs :D so more money for the booze
