Natwest says loan paid out, but it is not in my account?

Hello,
First time on here so please bear with me.
I applied for a loan on Friday with my bank Natwest whom I have been with for nearly 40 years.
It said agreed in principle I think and then I signed the agreement on line so no paperwork was needed and a message said the money would be in my account the next day.
Anyone who banks with Natwest will know that funds available on a Monday are actually accessible on a Saturday. So yesterday (Sat)I checked my on line account and it was showing a new account, I assume a loan account and it said it was -£9,000.00 and the available funds were £0.00 and when I looked at the statement for it, it just said loan paid out 15th June which was Friday but still nothing at all in my bank account.
I got a little worried and rang the number for pending applications etc and a man told me that it takes one day for the account to show up and one day for the money to show in my account and that it would be there on Sunday.
Sunday?? I said, thinking I have never known banks to do anything on a Sunday but he said yes.
So today I look again and still says the same. Nothing in my bank account and minus 9000 in another!!
I am worried about this, any advice please or may I have been declined?
I have a good credit rating and my pension brings in just over 1000 a month. Any help on this please?

Think you will find your money will be sitting in the bank first thing tomorrow morning, stop worrying you'll be fine.

If your application was accepted on Friday the funds would be available in your account on Monday.

  • OK thank you for the replies. I just thought that usually anything that is paid in on a Monday shows up on a Saturday because my pension was available yesterday and that says paid in on 18th which is tomorrow and the man from the bank told me on the phone it would be today (Sunday) so that is why I was confused. Do you have any idea what time it goes into the account please? Would it be middle of the night or a particular time of the day just so if it doesn't show, I can question it. Many thanks

It could be done at anytime of the day to be honest.

Give 023 8022 6443 a call in the morning press option 2 then option 2 and someone will be able to check your application for you.

It's only BACS credits that show on your account on Saturday for a Monday the money will be transferred internally.

...or alternatively, just see the information on the NatWest website...

  • Ok thank you I was just worried that it had either been paid into the wrong account or that they had changed their minds.

    Maybe they've changed their mind....with a pension of £1000 a month I am amazed that they've lend you £9000!!!!
  • The repayments are less than £200 per month over 5 years and I have hardly any outgoings as I own my home outright, and my daughter lives with me and pays rent.
  • Also, if the loan account is showing on my list of accounts on line with an actual account number and says paid out 15th June, doesn't that mean it has already been processed and I am in fact just waiting for the funds to go into my account? Or could they still say no at this point?

I'm confident its been approved. Sit back, enjoy a drink, and the cash will be with you very soon, if it isn't already!
