I would like help to be debt free

Hmmm...my main plan is to increase my self-employed hours and just use the payment arrangements I already have in place.

AH HA!...nothing else to say.

You know what? My main problem is keeping to regular hours, and not getting distracted!

Like, my new thing is a forum like this one (which has been helping me with a huge problem, but I over-do it).

To tell you the truth, I think I'm ADD - disorganised, easily distracted.

And doom thinking. I have a tendency to think if I log on to work, the calls won't come in, or something.

Oh, I live alone, and somehow, I seem to get 'frightened' of working. Strange but true.

What a crazy post :T But true!!!

Any advice welcome, however 'obvious'.

Hi and welcome. Good luck with the work. I know its not easy to be self employed when you have debts as budgeting becomes so difficult. (Being able to budget well is the most import part of repaying debt). Keeping organised and focused is something you will have to work on as you already know. Get a notebook to jot things down, keep your receipts, check accounts several times a week, start a spread sheet - good luck. Keep posting and I'm sure you'll get loads of advice about how to save money. If you want to do a SOA you could average your wage to give us some idea of whats coming in and going out.

hi,well it would be a crazy post at that time!:)
    welcome to MSE.
i'd be rubbish at being self employed,i'd never be organised enough to get the hours in.so hats off to you for doing it at all
my sis is S/E. she has to getup/dressed washed/kids off to school then starts work at 930am.she looks at it like she is actually "at work" then, even though its in her house.
would you actually like to go out to work?maybe if tou struggle to do extra hours S/E you coud get a little part time job?set hours or shifts?it would be a change for you and maybe the banter of workmates would make you fell less "doomed"?

    good luck to you.:)

    Thankyou so much flippin36!
Keep organised and focused - thankyou.
I've done all the things you've said over-extensively, and all I have time to say is it's £24k debt. I am bringing legal challenge, per CCA, SAR to £12k currently (2 loans). Tommorrow, lawyer. Also lawyer for letting agent/landlord.
I am paying off what I can.
Housing in danger. Will get worse if I don't get off here.
If I just did 40 hours per week, I would be OK.
What I don't need, is too much more forum writing, as I said.
THAT is part of the problem (telling myself here).

OK, could you please read my other message, to asparagus, below, and point me to SOA instructions, please (if that's not a cheek)? Also, can I RSS this thread? I will put WORK FIRST this week, SOA 2nd, thinking about p/t job 3rd. It's jolly useful for me to be at home, I'm getting a LOT done. One thing, important to clear credit file for dental loan. Need treatment badly - full mouth restoration.

    asparagus1968, thankyou for your welcome.
Thankyou also for the picture of your sister working neatly - that really helped me!! :)
In terms of another job, I'll have a think. It's just that I have so many already.
Consumer forum writer, lawyer, advocate, FB, watching videos online (laughing)...I spend all day on the computer...AH HA!!
But you may well be right on the doom thing. Just told a friend who's always talking about attempted suicide, etc, of housemates I couldn't be there for him any more. Just ridiculous. Been told to put myself first, do what makes me happy.

OK, I've realised just now (after replying to both of you) - I need to GET BACK TO WORK THIS WEEK (enough playing lawyer, I might be getting it wrong)...and engage lawyers for two BIG problems (12k debt and housing issues). Let them do it for me, and get my 40 hrs/week in.
    THEN come back with SOA.
