Oops - i've messed up!

SORRY for the long post!

Hello all - I need your help (again!)

I've been busily listing all our unwanted goods for some nice easy cash! I had two old mobile phones in the draw, which I listed seperately as two auctions.

Auction 1 was for the phone, charger, new sim, hands free kit and case (all photographed)

Auction 2 was for a phone and charger only (both photographed)

Both ended with sales and I happily sent off the phones to their new owners.

I then realised that I'd listed the second phone (auction 2) using the same info as the first phone (auction 1). But had forgotten to remove the bundled accesories kit from the item specifics.

Are you still with me?

I altered everything else about the phone (including a couple of small defects in appearance). I even had a question about the phone asking if a sim came with it - I answered (and posted the reply) that the auction was for the phone and charger only.

This morning I received a message from the winning bidder of the second auction asking where the hands free kit was as it was listed in the auction (they haven't mentioned the case yet).

WHAT DO I DO!

Do I try and plead ignorance (which I do feel a bit bad as the extras were listed in the item specifics), but I don't have anything to send them!

Or should I come clean and try and explain?

Any suggested / suitable wording greatly received!

PS - I really should know to check EVERYTHING on my auctions carefully. I'm not a newbie (but not a PS!) with 100% feedback on 166 transactions.

TIA

I would be honest and tell them what happened, give them the option to accept a full refund including postage if they return the item or a part refund to make up for the absence of the handsfree set if they opt to keep it.

Ditto!........these things happen - i advertised a basic phone, unlocked; sent to buyer who then informed me it was locked to Vodafone. He was really good about it, still left me + feedback after i gave him full refund. Ultimately, it was my fault, not his.

    Thanks for your replies!

I've sent a message back apologising and I've offered a partial refund of about 25% of the final sales price.

I'll wait and see what comes back!
