Moths

Help please !!!!!

We're inundated with moths, and they've already chomped through my favourite cardigan. They seem to be multiplying, and my husband has just got rid of six in one go, in the kitchen. Any ideas how to get rid of them please, without us ending up smelling of moth balls??

Thank you for any help

you can now get natural moth repellents which no longer smell of the moth balls we all remember. You can get cedar wood balls/hangers, lavender and citrus smelling repellents too

they're sold in branch too if you have one local to you

Get a rolled up newspaper and turn them into eyeshadow :)

The moths don't eat the clothes - it's their larvae. The moths, in fact, don't eat at all. The ones you see flapping around are looking to mate before they die.

Or, have mated and are flapping off to die.

The larvae will munch their way through natural fibres like wool, silk, cotton and even some soft leathers.

The larvae love dark places where clothes are piled up or crushed together and wool carpets in rooms where the furniture isn't moved very often.

Edit : If you have any old furniture stuffed with horsehair or any other natural fibres, you'll have to treat those with pesticides - nasty ones.

Your best bet is to go on a kind of seek and destroy mission - go through the wardrobes, discarding damaged clothes, washing the rest and start vacuuming like your lives depend on it.

I have these little hanger things I bought in Robert Dyas to put in the wardrobe as I found a few small holes in clothes a couple of years ago.

Oh God we had these at my old house!

Best thing to do I found was to vacuum everywhere every single day, and spray lemon around (not sure why it worked?)
