Mortgages after Bankruptcy

Options
I was declared bankrupt two years and have been discharged for just over one year.

I will be moving abroad shortly for three years and when I come back I plan to buy my first home. I have planned it so I come back just after six years have passed since my bankruptcy and as such it and the accounts should be off my credit file.

I plan to have a 30k deposit and wondered whether what people thought about me getting a mortgage for around 200k and from whom?

Any advice welcome.

Don't forget to maintain credit routes open in the UK for you i.e. bank accounts, cards etc As these will mainatain your credit history.

Mortgages can be arranged for discharged bankrupts the day after they are discharged and there are quite a few who will do this.

Obviously you will need a fairly goodish deposit.

As you are going away for about 5 yrs dont you think its a tad early to be asking this. In five years you might only get a garage for 200K.
Who I am is not important. What I do is.

I don't know where you got the idea I was going away for five years as I did write three but in any case I wondered if I would come up against any sort of problem.

Well, we dont have a glass sphere to look into the future. Who knows what the lenders look for in 3 to 5 years time? You could have no problems or large problems.
