Everytime the B.O.E oe other central bank comes out and says they need to do some more currency creation it sounds like "Things look far worse than we thought, we need to creat billions more units of currency"
Is it not obvious by now that a little way down the road they will say the same thing. Again and again............

The thing about chaos is, it's fair.

Because they just keep sloshing the money around in all directions. Most western countries just don't have any clear vision of what they're now supposed to do for a living. But you can't win a war without a plan."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0

The central banks know that creating more currency will do more harm long term but for now it kicks the can down the road. Make the problems worse for someone else to deal with in the future. But for now they just want the easy option.
Yes there will be more and more currency abuse all around the world. There will come a time when no matter how much currency they create it will not make much difference because people have lost confidence in it. But today people are so brainwashed and distracted from the truth about what money is, that day could be a long way off.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. They know how bad the situation is. Just a question of managing the situation.0 -

Then why do they need an excuse every time to abuse the currency?
If 140 billion more units will help then why not 140 trillion, surely that would be better? They are just numbers, people talk about the money supply its just the numbers supply. How many numbers are there? Infinite.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
For the love of God, can you just pick one login and stick to it?“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

The banks have to place assets as collateral, i.e. portfolios of mortgage debt.
This is exactly what they've been doing since the crash of 2008.
With JP Morgan buying 90% of all securitised mortgage debt issued. It shows how thin the market is, in terms of buying demand.
We've years of contraction of mortgage debt ahead of us.0 -
Quick question what would happen if Merv, the Bernank and all central banks around the world said they were not going to do any more currency expansion?0

The pack of cards would fold until we reached anew realistic level.
Nobody knows where that level would be that is the problem.
Releasing more money a bit at a time they hope to provide a soft landing.
Will the pain be any different, amputation or terminal disease?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

So why not create trillions more units of currency and do the helicopter drops of money the Bernank always talks about? If creating more currency was a helpful thing then why not turn it up even more to get the world economy going again?0
