Took out a car loan with Santander through dealer, did part exchange, and they would not do the transfer for my private number plate, which is a first as usually this has been done for me, so i did this myself when i took ownership, i have now just recieved a letter from Santander saying they are taking £30.00 from my bank account for admin. fees for plate transfer, for just a click of numbers on a computer i think this is abit steep !!!! anybody else paid this fee !

If you make an amendment to the loan details, there is usually a charge. It would be detailed in the terms and conditions. Perhaps you could call them and ask for it to be removed. Politely explain that the change had to be made because the original agreement didn't include it, so you feel it is a little harsh for them to make the charge now.
Be polite, and you might get it waived. Don't be ranty, the person at the end of the phone isn't responsible for the problem!

Not as simple as that, you have someones time to remove the legal charge against the existing reg no and transfer it across to the personalised plate, plus time taken to notify HPI. FYI Santander do this free within 30 days of commencement your finance agreement. Think your gripe is with the dealer, outof interest who is it?0
