    That's great to hear, make sure they leave her a few flyers/ business cards so she can pass them on to friends :)
  • I'm not sure, but I think that the lower rate of tax and national insurance contributions they pay as self employed workers may possibly mean that they are not eligible to some benefits, for example sickness benefit, but should count towards their retirement pension.

    I guess putting a little aside each month for emergencies such as sickness or accidents would be a good idea. There are also some insurance products that would cover them if incapacitated. Also, they should find out whether they will get the full state pension on retirement.
  • They didn't get the job, she messed them about. A mutual friend thinks she just wanted the quote as she needed 3 to get benefits to give her the money to do the work, then take the money & get it done on the cheap.
