I saw these today. A woman in front of me was buying two bunches and they looked really nice.

These will have been grown using tons of heating energy and then flown at hugh cost to the environment to the UK. Best avoided if possible. Stick to flowers that are seasonal to the UK please.Love living in a village in the country side0

if they were grown in kenya (as most are for uk shops) then i have a feeling that the sun provided the heating energy for free.Get some gorm.0

If they do droop, pop them into hot water and they will perk up!0 -
These roses from Tescos have just been discussed on TV, BBC1 Heaven & Earth Show.
The very poor working conditions and dangers of the chemicals and pesticides used were highlighted.
They also showed a similar bunch of 'Fairtrade' roses which were £10.
The fairtrade ones look much better.
I'd avoid the Tescos ones if you have anything resembling a social conscience.
£10 still a great price for a huge bunch of roses so get the fairtrade ones.0 -
Is this site about money saving?
if so why do people keep banging on about saving the planet?0 -
