Mortgage Amendment Query

I am a FTB but I am currently selling my partners house in order for us to buy a home together. We are buying and selling in Scotland.
Being new to the whole process, a natural worrier and havinng a solicitor that keeps things pretty vague I thought I would ask the nice people here to help.
Our buyer has recieved there mortgage offer letter but our solicitor says that we cannot conclude our missives currently as something needs changed on the offer and we will proceed once this is amended. My partner seems to think this is a typo but im not so sure. Would this really hold up the whole process?
