Ring them and ask then to send a statement of account.
They legally have to supply one every 12 months now.0 -
What sorts of accounts/debts? And are they defaulted?
There are slightly different obligations on creditors depending on the type of debt, and different bits of legislation/guidance you can rely on.
So hard to say how to word any such request to best effect without knowing the sort of debts involved.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I agree ring them and ask. It shows you are taking responsibility and may mean they are more reasonable with you. I know from past experience that talking to companies I had debts with when times were hard meant agreements to reduce payments without any defaulting on the debt.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0

I generally find that if creditors want payment, they'll write to you and quote the balance owed.
I'd only go through the exercise you are contemplating if you are collecting information for an IVA/DRO/bankruptcy.0
