In terms of PDLs, they serve a purpose. Just like you have government warnings on drink (drink aware and responsibly), we are all 'aware' of the pitfalls when it comes to PDLs. The truth is that there IS no risk if you use PDLs responsibly. You ask for the money, they give it to you, you pay it back on the due date. Its that simple. If we are honest with ourselves, we have to admit, no one was to blame but our own selves.
I agree with you FireWyrm that (in an ideal world) people would use PDL's responsibly and sensibly, and yes you could say that those who don't have no-one else to blame but themselves. However we all know that the world doesn't work that way, otherwise we would have no smokers, alcoholics, drug addicts, etc. etc. The plain fact is that people aren't sensible or responsible or they are just desperate. PDL companies know exactly what they are doing. They are exploiting a market in a way that many of us find insidious even if it is only 25% of their customers.DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421
