so,
i am writing here as I am in a worse prosision then i was a year ago with just having just a tiny amount of debt to around £1,300 now..
from going from the odd £300 here and there it has now amounted and finding it hard to pay back now.
so, the figure of £1,300 comes as me and my partners join income me on my own is around £400 her's is around £900.
right; heres a little story for everyone, back in october last year I took out a contract with Vodafone (what !!!!!!!s now) which was £15.50 a month with a free playstation. Now it's hard as I thought I was paying the bill and yet, I wasn't at all.. they cancelled the DD and now I am left with £311.59 to pay in total for a cancelation fee.. (still got the playstation though!!) - I have set up a DD with them for £25 a week (well, through the debt collection agency) to pay them to clear it.
I've got £78 on a buisness account that actually went bust around 4 months ago and that's who I owe to now (yet, with neglect I didn't bother paying them yet. (when I resliesed I had a problem with the account I just ignored) it started at £30 and 4 months later.. yeah you get the picture.
Now; I brought 1 pair of jeans around a year ago from the famous site Jacamo and yet, I've been paying it ever since, every month I have been paying £25-£35, yet they won't get rid of the account? Keep billing me £5 each month for no reason? - yet i've paid them... and cleared it...
Now, got an interest free argos card which is brill had for around 4-5 months I've amounted to £311 for home expensise for my partner.. yet it's interest free for 12 months - so this will be the last I pay - so not really bothered.
interest statement
Vodafone - (I think around 5% a month? - if i fail to pay)
jacamo - £5 a month
Lloyds buisness account (£5-10 a month I think?)
yes, I have also had a notice of default on the vodafone account yet don't know what to do.. please can you help?

Sorry to hear of your troubles - I was still up and didnt want to read and go. I dont have an awful lot of experience with this sort of thing and I'm sure others will come along quickly who can help better.
What I do know is that you need to start speaking to the people that you owe money to and also to the ones that are taking money for things you have paid for, such as Jacamo!
Gather up all your evidence, set aside a few hours and lots of coffee and make up a realistic plan for paying. You will feel better once you are more in control of what is happening and when you know exactly how much you are having to find to pay people.
Something that a friend said to me when I told her how much money I owed still makes me smile now - "From what I remember, we no longer shoot people in this country for owing money and if we did, there wold be nobody left anyway".
Good luck with it all anyway and try not to worry too much.
LOts of support on here from people in similar positions.Testing out the theory of 'what doesn't kill us makes us stronger'.......Total debt £7,054 (personal loan £4500, MBNA £2100 Barclays £300 Store card £145 - est debt free by Feb 2015.0 -
Is there anyway you could sell the play station to get a chunk of money to pay towards the debt? You may get enough to clear one of the debts. Have you phoned jacamo to ask why they are taking £5 a month. They may be taking it simply for having account in which case close it and add your £5 a month to your Vodafone payment (every little helps).
I took out an interest free credit card thinking I wouldn't spend much and even if I did I would have 12 months to pay it off. 12 months later and £3000 worse off, I have had to do a balance transfer in order to give myself more time to clear it. A debt is a debt so don't ignore it because it can very easily get a lot worse. Take every debt seriously and don't get complacent about it.
The ppl here are really good and will have loads of good advice for you x0
