Overwhelmed by clothes

Thanks all,
Now, who's coming over to give me a good kicking? :A
I know the theory, I am very good at planning and list making, but the reality...
Everyday life gets in the way - late last night I sat on the sofa folding clothes "I'll put them away in the morning", but even now they are still here (I had a bit of a day) smeared across the cushions...
I did another load of washing, but that was just towels from swimming today and ds's duvet cover, so the baskets are still heaving, even more so because someone thought it would be nice to give the boys raspberries... It's wear your clothes day at nursery tomorrow and I have no idea where all his jeans are??? (things tend to hide until you don't need them).
Maybe next time we can tackle our paperwork :wall:0 -
B&T's advice is good. The only thing I would add is that when your kids are bigger and wearing similar size undies or socks, that you give each a different colour and stick to it...DS1 wore black socks & boxers, DS2 wore coloured boxers and matched coloured socks, so they (and I) knew which belonged to who...
As my boys got older I included my husband in the colour segregation, though he needed convincing!0 -
I appreciate your probs
When DD was small she was given a really expensive dress - so we just let her live in it, whatever we were doing, it was good quality so washed well, and we didn't have the regret of only wearing it a few times before outgrowing
Later on she had so many clothes that most were usually in the wash basket as no room in cupboards - before we cottoned on that once into school uniform they actually have very litle time to wear their clothes, so there was no point buying loads in the summer sales
A friend we went caravanning with just lifted the entire contents of the kids' wardrobes into the caravan store cabinets - unlike us who spent days finding specific "HOLIDAY" things and washing them specially - she was so organised that her kids only has clothes they would actually wear!
That's what I think you should aspire to! Good luckYou never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0
