FTB Conveyancy - Solicitor has sent "final report"

Hi there,

I just checked my inbox having mailed my solicitor asking for an idea on completion on our first house. He had said to me 2 weeks ago that completion would be "no later than mid june"

He emailed me back saying that the "final report" was sent to us today.

As i got the email after hours i wasn't able to ask what this is! Could someone please enlighten me?

Thanks very much!

    No idea.

Once all the relevant paperwork has been received from your solicitor, that's the point you'll be asked for your preferred completion date(s).

Your solicitor will put it/them forward to the vendor, via the vendor's solicitor and you'll hopefully agree on one of them.

Once agreement has been reached, contracts can be signed, your deposit paid and contracts exchanged, with completion taking place on the date you've agreed.

Final report turned out to be a whole binder of all the conveyancing work! We've signed our side of the contract which are being exchanged early next week.
