old debt Wellcome Finance passed to Moorcroft

Hello everyone,
Sorry if this has been repeated somewhere as I see a lot about Moorcroft.
Basically I fell behind with a loan with Wellcome Finance (who I notice dont take new applicants anymore!). This would be maybe 3 years ago. They passed this debt to Moorcroft Group who did become aggressive very quickly. My ex partner at the time paid it all in 1 lump sum on his credit card and I paid back to him monthly.
This debt from Wellcome Finance has now been passed to Empingham and they are now threatening me!
2 letters within a week, 1 quite nice explaining the options. The 2nd however was quite aggressive and told me they had agents tracking me and I have to pay immediately or I will get a 'visitor' to ensure full payment is made.
How can I be chased for a debt already paid? Do I ignore this? Do anything else? I do not want to be bullied by this company in to paying something now already settled!

I would speak to Citizen's Advice about this, if you can prove that you've already paid the debt this collection agency shouldn't be chasing you for it.Capital One Classic Extra £2,450 [06-2012]
Barclaycard Platinum £5,200 [08-2015]
Lloyds Bank Platinum £750 [11-2015]

I'd write to them saying that you paid the debt and that they should immediately take you to court so you can prove this to the judge (I imagine you can via credit card statement etc) And that they will of course have to prove otherwise.
I'd also get a copy of your credit report, if their are any issues in relation to this paid debt then I would contact Equifax etc and notify them and ask the company with the incorrect data that it needs updating.
ETA - do NOT pay them anything if the debt is paid. But gather the proof together for your own peace of mind then you can safely ignore them.Light Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0
