Thanks - think I will try that first. The payday loan is not really a route i ever thought i would go down, I just dont like keep asking them at the moment. My other half is currently in hospital and has been off work for nearly a month. Some money is due to go into my bank tomorrow (a decent amount) I have had to use wonga previously this month which will be payed back on friday when i get paid. I already owe my granmother £750 (which will be paid back tomorrow) since my partner was admitted into hospital last night and i need to go and pick up his mother 50 miles away to take her to see him and then take her back..... and with all the running about i have done in the past week or so my petrol is struggling and so is my bank balance. £16 wont get me very far!
Sorry I know this isnt a counselling session....
  • They aren't really a problem as such as long as you are 100% sure you will be paying back on the agreed date - it's when you don't that the problems start and escalate.

But I agree with warwicktiger, I'd be asking anyone who could possibly lend a hand first, and ideally not tarnishing my credit history with such loans if at all possible.

There isnt an issue with paying it back on time - I get paid on Friday and will receive something tomorrow. There are so many companies out there though I dont know which ones are reputable

Well, I'll answer your question and let you be the judge of whether a PD loan is a good idea or not. Wonga appear to the most reputable. I used them a year ago and it was fine. They lent, I borrowed. I paid it back on the agreed date and they sent me a text thanking me for my payment. I have never received any texts/e-mails or any form of harassment from them since.

ETA: It does show on my credit file and I am sure that it is dragging my 'score' down but as my rating is fairly pants anyway, I'm not bothered.
