Bank of Scotland Personal Loan Repayments Taken Twice!
Options
Logged onto my account this morning to find that the Direct Debit for my Bank of Scotland personal loan, which was taken yesterday, was taken out of my account again this morning.
Phoned the Bank and it took ages to get through, apparently this has affected quite a few customers and although they are aware of it, they made me speak to someone in a reconcilations department to put a claim in to get the money back, wasn't made clear to me whether this would be done automatically for affected customers who either didn't phone or weren't aware.
Obviously if you have gone overdrawn as a result of this and incurred interest/charges then you will get these back, but it is probably best to phone and check. Luckily I was not affected in this regard.
Not sure if this affects all Bank of Scotland Personal Loans or just those where the D/Ds came out in the last couple of days, also don't know if this affects Halifax personal Loans as well, but they assure me the money will be back in my account tomorrow.

I have had a similar experience with a Halifax loan repayment coming out of my account 3 times.
After spending 40 mins on hold this morning (then hanging up), then another 30 this afternoon I finally got through to speak to someone. As mentioned above they are aware of the issue and it seems to be affecting all those with a DD date of 8th.
I had dupllicate payments come out on the 11th and 12th, as well as the my actual payment on the 8th.
As my DD payment comes from a Halifax account they were about to get the payments reversed - which will take between 2 hours and 1 day. They also gave me a £25 goodwill payment for the inconvenience and was told if I incur any extra charges (o/d ect) I can phone back when they appear on my account to get them removed.
I would suggest anyone else affected phones the Halifax/BoS loans number also.0 -
I'd suggest contacting your current account provider and requesting a refund via the direct debit guarantee.
Then a polite request from the lender for a chunk of compensation.0 -
I have experianced this aswell except I only noticed this today!
i spoke to someone in Halifax today and that said that they need to put in an indemnity claim for me to receive these two additional payments back this totals to over £200 which has sent me over my overdraft all they were willing to do was offer me £25 compensation and this should cover my over draft fees! Wasn't happy with this as not only has it taken me into my overdarft this could cause me more problems gaining credit through Halifax! Also now because of this until I recieve my money back I can't pay for anything!
massive inconvenience and stress!!!!

This now constitutes as massive stress? A lot of people I know should therefore have killed themselves by now. SheeshHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

I think the OP was using the term 'stress' as a throwaway comment, why you need to criticise is beyond me. Perhaps next time rather than jump on a post try and be helpful, or dont comment at all?0 -
