I am that mug and oh Jesus I wish I was not.
DO NOT use this company they are a bunch of computers with no chance of them listening to you at all. I wish this was just bitterness but to any one considering amigo DO NOT touch them the loan is a rip off the people are unforgiving and I truly NOW believe that these companies are the reason so many more like me are in the proverbial creek. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.......0 -

No 1 is forced to use Amigo Loans.0 -
Surely it only becomes a problem when you take money and don't repay it.
Ironically this company exists to give those who have failed to repay a second chance.
Not that I think an amigo loan is a good idea.....ever.0 -
Amigo loans is the devil - they only lend if you provide a guarantor - so much for their so called advertising about old fashioned loans!0

Another of the "kneecapper" companies exploiting vulnerable people."Can't you have your ***** cut off ?" "It's not as simple as that, Nigel"

Well, there's an argument to be made that they are no different to the pubs, tobacconists, national lottery or bingo, in that they all offer a service that certain people will have trouble with.
If there's blame to be apportioned, I tend to believe that the buyer / customer should shoulder more than the seller.0 -
Good point, Bill. Actually they were talking about gaming machines in betting shops on Daily Politics today, about the high number of customers losing their rag when they lose and the police being called. True, there are some people out there who should be a little more intelligent and careful about what they apply to, but companies like Amigo/Wonga etc make it look so easy and inviting. I think more financial education is needed."Can't you have your ***** cut off ?" "It's not as simple as that, Nigel"

I couldn't agree more. People seem to be leaving school, and growing up, with very little idea of what debt means. It seems that many believe that they are wealthier having taken out a loan, when the reality is that they are poorer. If people understood that the loan is really from their future selves, and that it is in no way "free money" then far fewer would be seduced by these companies.
The stories on here can be heartbreaking, but also so infuriating, because the right advice or education could have stopped them happening.0 -
Right everyone has an opion on this which I get but tbh I had money problems and i needed a car for work, So because i had poor credit i couldnt get a mainstream loan no bank would touch me so i turned to amigo loans, I got the loan got the car and paid it back, It cost more a little bit more than a bank but it improved my credit score/rating and is now good again so it all in all was good for me. Everyone has a different circumstance the worse off the more you pay in the end. But i helped me out0
