Provident - non collection

Hi There

I am just after a little bit of advice. My partner and I both have loans with Provident which used to be collected weekly without fail by a lovely girl called Alison.

Alison has since left the company and we now have a new collection agent. Firstly, we had 2 weeks where no one came, I was religously stacking the weekly payments into our books thinking that someone would come eventually. When they did come there was £75.00 waiting to be collected and we then thought things would carry on as normal.

Now, the new agent does not seem to come very regularly, and when she does come she always seems to come when I am out picking my son up from beavers (although there are very rarely cards through the door so I am not entirely convinced she is coming every week). I have started to get behind as I am not in a financial position to often leave money untouched for weeks at a time (as can be seen from my debt free diary!!), so tonight, I decided when I went out to beavers to leave an envelope on the door with the money so that this weeks payment would be made. Again, it is now 21.40 and there is no card through the door and the envelope is still there.

Sorry for the long winded reply, but my question is this. As I amnot sure that my agent is coming every week, can I approach provident and ask them to now accept my payments by DD or standing order etc??

Does anyone have any experience of this and is it something they would accept? I know I should be saving the money every week that no one comes but it is not always possible and I really don't want to keep getting behind.

Many thanks for reading this really long post

xx

    Hiya,
Your agent should be calling every week, thats the point of them really, so you can pay your weekly payments.

If I were you I would definitely give them a ring and try to get it sorted out as there's probably another agent who will be able to call more regularly to collect your payments.

I know how you feel though, my old agent was useless and we would try and keep the money for when he may turn up but more often than not we would end up using the money for something else!! Now though, we have a lovely collector who collects on time every week :)

Sorry I didn't read your post properly! I'm not sure about DD but give them a ring and try to sort it out hun x

Thank you for your reply, we are ina ridiculously rural area so I am not hopeful about a different collector but it is something I had not even considered so I will definately give that a try. I would rather not go onto DD if at all possible as I get paid in cash and it is much easier for someone to just come and get the cash :)

Will definately give that a go.
