  • My oh my, I can't believe its a year since I updated my diary - tut tut!
    The Halifax agreed to extend our mortgage term to 27 years & remain on IO, so the pressure is off a little & we wont be trapped into a humongous payment when the interest rate finally rises.
    We therefore need to try & pay some balance off in 2014 whilst rates are still low.
    Having trouble getting DH on board though as we owe about £2300 (interest free) to a family member which we have been paying back at £25 per fortnight. DH wants to be rid of this (as do I) but Im scared that once its gone & we are in a position to overpay, the rates might rise & prevent us.
    On a good note, a loan we have had for 7 years, ends this July & will free up £265 per month - can't wait! :j
