Hi,
After struggling to crush garlic manually since I started my 'cook from scratch' :A plan last year I've decided I should just bite the bullet and buy one.
There's loads around, can anyone recommend one that works well?

Hi
I have to say that I would not be without my Pampered Chef garlic press, it was more expensive then most but it is fantastic. It even comes with a tool so that you don't have to touch the holes to clean it out !

We have 2 (one was a gift.) We have the pampered chef one and a Morrisons one. The Morrisons one has a large 'cup' bit that takes huge cloves, or several and is easy to use and clean. The Pampered chef one has a smaller 'cup' but is solid and has the advantage of working even if you put the cloves in unpeeled.
I use the Pampered Chef one if I'm in a hurry or the cloves are small and fiddly to peel and the Morrisons one for the big organic cloves we sometimes get.
But really, no-one needs 2 garlic crushers! LOLMay all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
I use lots of garlic, and my recommendation is the Zyliss one, it is really good. I had loads of cheap ones before and they just didn't work and kept breaking. I bought something like this one : http://www.lakeland.co.uk/product.aspx/!6370
- spent £9 on it a few years ago  but it's superb, you can put the garlic in without skinning it and the inside comes out leaving the skin behind. Have recently seen them in TK Maxx for £3 and was tempted to get it as a back up as it was a very good price, but I don't see my original one breaking, seems indestructible.0 -
The Pampered Chef one is the best I have ever used. I can heartily recommend their ice cream dipper as well, it glides through even the hardest ice cream. I used to be a rep for them, now I have a kitchen full of Pampered Chef goodies0

Oh just to add....
if you host a Pampered Chef party, it like Tupperware or Virgin Vie, as a host you will get freebies and discounts.
I honestly, truly don't work for them anymore, it's just that i like their products!0 -
Thanks for the replies...nearly fainted when I saw the cost but after buying and binning so may cheap ones maybe I need to invest!
Hadn't heard of Pampered Chef before, does anyone know an agent that you can order from?

Have a look on : https://www.pamperedchef.com and you can get them to contact you. Even if you don't want to host a party, I'm sure a rep close to you will order for you.0

Hi,
I use loads of garlic and my crusher is used at least twice a week, I've had it for about 4 years and it is metal, heavy and really well made but it was nothing like £9.00, I got it from Ikea and it was about £2-3 (sorry can't remember exactly) but it was worth every penny !!!

Ooohh they look good - Just to add that the ikea one is really good. No need to peel and indestructable. Also grating garlic is quick and easy if you cant be bothered to chopThere are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0

I bought this one amzn.to/2vgPsnN from Amazon some time last year. you dont even need to do any peeling which helps but if you did want to you could use the free peeler that comes with it. failing that you can always crush it with the side of a knife which is what I used to do and its sometimes quicker.
