How to reduce postage costs

I am not sure if this is the right place to put this post! Please move if appropriate.
Now that royal mail has become a royal rip off with a 90p first class stamp there is a way to reduce your total cost of stamps.
If you need to send birthday cards - send them in a batch in one envelope. The cost of batching up is only a few pence more than sending one card.
One 1st class stamp = 90p.
Posting 7 cards in one envelope £1.20
This only works if you can batch up ofcourse

I do some ebaying, and have found that Click and collect are far cheaper than the post office. A parcel up to 5kg can go for £4.99. Post Office wanted over £10!
Really easy to do as well. Just enter address, pay, download the label. My shop across the road takes them and gives you a tracking receipt too.I Believe in saving money!!!:T
A Bargain is only a bargain if you need it!0 -
I received a parcel recently which had been sent through Collectplus. It seems like the same kind of set up. Post or collect from your local shop or have it delivered by courier. Under 2kg for £3.99. Sounded good to me.The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

Please and Thank You are the magic words;)0 -
We do this for Christmas cards, etc. If myself/sister/Mum are sending cards to the same family and friends, we will put cards for the same address into one envelope.0
