Personally, I wouldn't chance it being in the same financial institution. This is a gut-feeling rather than based on legislation though and I could be wrong.

You know you can try and open a new bank account pretty easily. We did ours online.

Do you have any other debts?

    Hey,

Your debt is small compared to many here - mine included. Don't let it get you down and panicky. You got caught in a trap that many people are falling for. This can be sorted out and it has no bearing on your ability as a dad.

Call the payday loan companies and tell them you are in financial difficulty. Ask to arrange a payment plan with them. Given the press they have been getting lately there is a very good chance they will agree - if not then you have lost nothing.

Still change the bank accounts (and pay any new agreement with Standing Order or by cheque or manual payments - don't give them your new details). If they agree, it may save you from additional charges and interest that would accrue while CCCS or Payplan set up a DMP. They might say no, but if you don't ask you don't get.

Wonga froze the interest and set up a repayment plan over the phone on the day i missed the payment, they even extended it from 3 to 8 months so i could manage the plan better.I was worried sick up till that phone call as i expected them to do anything to get there cash back right away.
I only had the courage to call them thx to the people here on these boards, good luck to you!

First thing first I would get another bank account and make sure your wage gets paid into there. if you are in credit, take that money with you. if not you need to make sure that the account is frozen in some way

these payday loan companies will rob your account if they get a sniff of you not paying. (they put through multiple requests of £5... (hundreds of requests sometimes!!!) till the bank eventually blocks them but its too late by then.

don't close the account till you have another open! but its important to freeze it somehow

I feel for you mate... you have been caught in the old usury scam. it used to be illegal but hey ho.

    DON'T BLAME YOURSELF!!
its the poorest and most desperate that get DRIVEN to this scam! this is how the rich always get richer while the poor get poorer.

DO NOT FEEL SORRY FOR YOUR ABUSERS....
they have mugged you my friend. do what you can to fight them back..... lie trick and deceive them... hehe... they did it to you!

do some research on usury! there was a reason Jesus got rid of the money lenders!!! (if he existed)

    Why were you using PDL's?

Same reason as 99% of us i guess, they dont care if you can repay or not, they dont care if your employed/unemployed,they dont care if your rich or poor...They know they will get it back regardles of your position and status, the damage is done the second you accept the loan and give them your bank details.

Actually the use of PDL's are ok if you use them knowing how they work fully. The reason I was asking was what caused the actual need for using a PDL and has that been resolved?
