Westcot - doorstep agents

I stumbled across this thread from a search on Westcot. They are chasing me for a sizeable credit card debt which I ran up after someone i did work for didn't pay me and then went out of business (limited company, no comeback etc)
Anyway, I've paid nothing to this debt in 2 years and, rightly or wrongly, because I was shafted so badly and feel so bitter, I've decided to ignore them. The original creditor has used a number of DCA, with Westcot being the latest, but nobody has taken any action, other than threatening letters and numerous phone calls (I assume - the phone is unplugged).
So, I've now had 4-5 visits from a Westcot agent - but have never answered the door to them - wife did once, on his first visit. I see from this thread that some people have said that doorstep agents are NOT allowed in Scotland - IS THIS COMPLETELY TRUE?
I thought they had to make an appointment, at the very least...? And surely, a letter saying that they are now sending an agent in the next 10 days, and he comes the next day, is not sufficient?
Anyone able to advise on the exact letter of the Law here (Scotland)...?

Heard something similar the other day, but not sure how accurate.
