Prefer sandisk as a known brand but thanks to the OP too, it's a great deal for a simple straight forward USB flash drive and you can't go wrong at that price!

Have just seen this on HUKD. Lots of people complaining about how slow it is though.

Vulture - no 97p stock 4gb or 8gb near 3 locations I tried, AL, KT & E16 but ordered the OP ones though - good find syed1.

If anyone who's bought one of the PNY flash drives (or in fact any USB stick) is willing, it'd be useful to run a quick "benchmark", using a free tool. In brief: a small program tests the capabilities of the flash drive by measuring how quickly you can write to it, and then how quickly you can read from it.
The best place is here:
usbflashspeed dot com (I hope nobody minds me trying to circumvent the "new users can't post links" rule, but my post is pointless without this information).
They offer the free software required (Windows only), and when it's done it automatically send the measurements to the website so others can use it to compare and contrast.
NB: Only use it on new drives, not old drives, as drive performance suffers over time and use. I am _not_ affiliated in any way with the linked website.
