Liberty London returns policy

Can anyone tell me if this is legal? I thought distance selling regulations meant they HAD to accept a return if purchased over the internet or phone?
Online returns information

Sale items or special purchases bought during the sale or at promotional events may only be returned for exchange or shopping credit if returned in their original condition with proof of purchase subject to the conditions stated above, during the same sale period or promotional event or within 14 days of purchase (whichever is earlier). Any shopping credit issued must be redeemed online by the end of that sale period or promotional event. Items reduced to 50% or below original retail price cannot be returned. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Thanks in advance

    Doesn't seem right ...

    Snippet from another site http://www.durhamrecordsonline.com/Policies.php
"This refund policy conforms to the Consumer Protection Distance Selling Regulations 2000 (SI 2000 No. 2334) which provides for a "no refund" policy under exceptions 6.1(a) services that begin before the end of the cooling off period and 6.1(d) goods that due to their nature cannot be returned and possibly also (e) the supply of audio or video recordings or computer software if they are unsealed by the consumer."

    and http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/consumer-rights-refunds-exchange#web

    "Exceptions:
Fresh food and flowers (for obvious reasons of decay!), personalised goods, accommodation, transport, newspapers and magazines, sealed audio, video or computer software that has been opened or a service that has already started, can't be cancelled."

Exception to a refund only apply to certain goods, not everything.

This bit " ... returned in their original condition with proof of purchase subject to the conditions stated above, during the same sale period or promotional event or within 14 days of purchase (whichever is earlier)"

... seems to say you have to return it by the end of the sale, whuch could be 1 day if you only bought the day before. The regs say you have 7 days ...

    Time to cancel:
Goods: Seven working days from the day after you receive goods
Services: Seven working days from the day after the order is provided

Exactly! And how can they say that if an item is 50% there's no refund or exchange?!

    Here's the full policy:
