Why can't you use the 'Golden Hello' to pay off the overdraft, instead of including the entire overdraft repayment in the prospective loan?
I start my job mid-September, so won't get a full month's pay at the end of the month. As a result, the Golden Hello (+ a week's pay) will have to be treated as my month's pay.
It actually means that it isn't really much of a bonus! Nonetheless, it does mean that I am fully covered that month.0 -

Yes, I understand.
Does anyone have any suggestions on any other options I might have?0 -
basic ways of getting money
family / friends
earned income
credit card
overdraft
loan
supplemented by cutting all spending to the bone and saving as much as possible between now and then
what's your current income?
what are your current expenses? (essential)
c an you reduce them ?
any spare on the OD?
what's the CC limit?
you could approach your bank for an increase in the OD (even if charged interest ) or a loan as presumably they know you are responsible with your money
and of cause presumably you are still looking for a job0 -

Unfortunately, the closer it gets to my start date, the harder it has been to get any work!
Whys that then, you register at all agencies for work and just take whats going to last till september. Dont have to use agencies, look on job sites for temporary work. So, presumably it is easier to get a loan from the bank that you already bank with than from another lender - is that correct?
Yes thats what Clapton is saying0 -

I think you need to have a couple of versions of your cv at least, targeted to different jobs.0
