Tip: Useful for anyone doing long, complicated posts, especially those using wireless connections, but it can also happen if MSE goes down while you are creating your post, or MSE logs you off due to inactivity.

Before you click 'Submit', 'Copy' your entire post (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C is quickest) then if you need to log in/re-establish your connection etc. the post will be in your cache ready to paste (Ctrl+V).

sorry to bump this thread again Just thought I'd mention that there's a very handy add on for Firefox and Chrome called Lazarus Form which saves forms automatically as you type. Works on forum posts and surveys too. It means you can restore them with a click if something goes wrong. (I also use it the same way as a roboform passcard for regular comps)
