Am I entitled to a refund?

To cut a long story short

-bought HDTV from Argos
-Broke after 3 months
-Engineer came to pick it up for repair
-Now been a month and still not repaired
-Each time I ring up they just keep fobbing me off with different excuses

Shall I just go into Argos and ask for a refund? Surely 1 month+ is not a reasonable time for a repair of a faulty product.

Thanks in advance

i was in a similar situation bought a lcd tv it became faulty within 3 months called argos who sent an engineer round to fix it engineer took tv to bits in living room and started soldering it which i thought was odd.worked ok for a couple of weeks then became faulty again so i foned argos and demanded my money back or a replacement the woman arranged for me to pick up a replacement the same day at my local argos so my advice to you is to get on the fone to argos and play merry hell

Argos are allowed to insist you have a repair but they have to do it within a reasonable amount of time. Anyone with an ounce of common sense will see that being without a TV for a month isn't reasonable and you'll probably get a replacement if you ask them.
