LOL, a long time ago I used to be the publisher for PC Plus (and even longer before that, I was a Deputy Editor on it).

The new issue of Home Computer Magazine has just been published. As usual, it's completely free for readers, and available without registration in PDF format. Full info and different versions available for free from http://www.homecomputermagazine.com/issue6.htm

You can just grab the full version here:
    http://www.homecomputermagazine.com...gazine%2006.pdf

Issue 6 includes a feature by renowned Windows journalist, Nick Peers, this time looking at how to solve those annoying startup and shutdown problems in Windows, so that you can have a trouble free PC experience.

Our reviews section is brimming with the latest releases, including the Toshiba Qosmio notebook, a portable PC that doubles as a home entertainment device. We also have the cutting edge Armari PC for gamers, which packs an incredible £3,000 of hardware into its package. Then we have a low price, lightweight, but high specced notebook from Averatec and the UK exclusive review of Compro's budget TV card.

Our tutorial sections bring you the best in Windows and web building advice, with the second part in our tutorial on Windows Display Properties, going hand-in-hand with another tutorial on overclocking your graphics card. We have a one-off tutorial on secure file deletion and file recovery for accidentally deleted files. Our Webmaster tutorials include the second part of our tutorial on using the excellent WebEden Sitebuilder, adding plugin functionality to your Nucleus CMS site and a special on web promotion. We spent our money test driving four web promotion services to see which worked. You can read our conclusions and save yourself some wasted money.

As always, any comments are welcome.

    Regards

The main feature this month is "Home Networking made easy", while elsewhere in the magazine are 10 pages of PC hardware and software reviews and another 16 pages of Windows and web building tutorials. This issue sees the start of a new series on Dreamweaver, for all the website owners out there.

If you're not into that sort of thing, then check out the beginners guide to monthly PC maintenance and the free ways to improve your mouse!
