lost receipt bank statement as proof of sending

can anyone help me rectify if you can prove youve sent something through post office delivery if you no longer have the receipt ????
i paid for the delivery using my bank card the cost was of weight and recorded nxtday delivery about £13 amount is shown and that it was at post office local to me.
this was sent almost a month ago and have just received a letter explaining to send off stuff to different address than first advised as i carnt find the receipt for recorded delivery now so annoyed for loosing it as it could result in having to pay £3,000

    Have you checked that what you sent has been received at the address ? i mean using the phone to ask.

    If it has definitely not arrived, then get a duplicate receipt from the post office from where you sent the item. They will have a full record of it.

    Just take the card you paid the fee on, and some ID just in case.

    You need to speak to the Post Office for a duplicate receipt or for them to help you.

    A bank statement isn't proof, you could have sent anything to anywhere at the post office, you could have bought £13 worth of stamps. It proves nothing except that you spent £13 there.
