The Naked Wines caught my eye as I am a member.
As far as I know, for members anyway, it's an £80 order for free delivery. You have to buy 12 bottles so it's not too difficult to get to that.
Overall I find it worth it. I haven't had a bottle that I thought was terrible. I would say all are at least 'reasonable' for the price you pay. Now and again you get one you think is fantastic for the money and you can stock up on them in future. So after a bit you get to know which ones to put in the basket.
I imagine they will try to sell you the £20 per month direct debit thing if you do sign up, but it's up to you if you think it's worth it.
Hard to say without knowing the exact terms they're offering, but overall I think they're good.
ps. I'd be happy to recommend you some if you want to take advantage of the offer.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
I did try them but they left me totally unimpressed. Their wines are mostly very ordinary, but at extraordinary prices. Prices are ramped up, and then reduced to normal prices (Tesco-style) for their 'Angels' to make them look like bargains.
But bargains they are not.0 -
I agree with both posts in a way. They are not Tesco though, they don't pretend to sell cheap wine, they openly say they are the opposite. They support growers and winemakers and so you can get lots of different wines on their site, I haven't had a bad one yet.
That said they are not the site for bargains really, except the first big discount voucher which I found was a really generous offer.0 -

It's nice to get quality comments and recommendations but my questions aren't really answered.
If I try to use these vouchers am I committing myself to more than using them to buy £60 of wine without having to pay for any extras or signing up to some kind of membership involving direct debit.?
The vouchers offered as an incentive to renew a policy are useless to me if I'm letting myself into more than I bargained for.
I've had experience of winning a £100 holiday voucher and finding out that the price I'd have to pay on top of the voucher turned out to be more or the same if I'd just booked the holiday directly without a voucher.
I know that the wine is overpriced but if it's really £60 worth for free I wouldn't be complaining
I drive to the continent regularly and always stock up on good wine such as Cabernet Sauvignon costing as little as £1.50 a bottle and 3 Litre boxes of Merlot costing no more than a fiver so I certainly don't need to be committed to buy at Naked Wine's extortionate prices.
I smell a catch here and just wondering if I'm being over cautiousIWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -

It's impossible, I'm afraid, to answer your question without examining the T&C which apply to this offer. And from what you've said, it's impossible to see the T&C without getting them from Naked Wines, so it isn't really possible for anyone to answer your question.
This is, unfortunately, pretty typical of the way Naked Wines do business. The words smoke and mirrors come to mind.
You really need to get the full T&C from them, because their offers vary considerably. There are offers that enable you to buy wine without further commitment, but you can't be sure this is one of those offers.
I joined with one of their offers, and paid very little for the wine I received. It was worth, I'd say, around £5 a bottle, but the Naked Wines 'list' price was very considerably more than that. Their prices are ludicrous, and the only way to bring those prices down to 'normal' levels is to sign up as an 'Angel', which has strings attached to it.
There's an awful lot of hype about this company, and frankly I now give them a wide berth. I don't like the way they pester you, I don't like the way they do business, and I think their prices are just far too high for the quality offered.
Sorry to go on, but you do need to take care with these people - and to check over the T&C before you sign up.0 -

Well I finally decided that I need the motoring cover anyway and see what happens.
When I get the voucher and If there's a catch in the T&C's I'll see it.
The good thing about direct debit is that they are easily cancelledIWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -
