Hi, My husband has just been made redundant. Please can you tell me if his tax free redundancy payment is classed as our savings? The reason I am asking is for when he has to claim Job Seekers Allowance. Thanks, Nikki

If your husband has paid NI for the past 2 years he is entitled to contribution based JSA. When he applies (via phone now) he may be asked about his savings. He can tell them that he is only claiming contribution based JSA so the question isn't relevant for his claim." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."
