I'm currently looking at getting a new pair of glasses and some contact lenses. I've had a look at glasses direct but I'm not really sure I'd get a pair that suited me. If anyone wants to argue their case then feel free! Otherwise, where is the best high street place to buy glasses? Also, where do you think I should buy contact lenses? Online or in the high street?
I know that there is a massive thread on this somewhere else, but I didn't find it very helpful.
Thanks!

Hiya!
I currently wear contact lenses and I get them from Specsavers. I pay £15.50 per months and all my contact lens checkups are free.
I recently needed to up-date my glasses and got my glasses half price because I'm on their contact lens scheme.0 -
Best place for contact lenses has to be www.postoptics.co.uk
They are cheap, fast delivery and they call your optician to confirm your prescription with them. No hassle whatsoever.
I've just bought a years supply of lens solution (£45) and 6 months worth of lenses for £45. And then once a year I go to Boots for a check up and new prescription. Unless you have very troublesome eyes (i.e. needing lots of aftercare and monitoring) I would recommend buying lenses online and then only forking out annually for a check up. The only added bonus that stores give you is the aftercare and reminders. I have one friend who pays £20 a month for contact lenses and she has to go and pick them up from the store! I just sit at home and get mine delivered.......:rotfl:0 -
If you have a read of Martins articles on Glasses Buying Cost Cutting Plan and Contact Lens and Laser eye surgery cost cutting you should find some useful tips.
