Dress to match theme?

I went to look at wedding dresses for the first time this morning and found a couple that I liked. In fact two that I loved and one that I thought really had the wow factor.
Trouble is they are so completely different I'm confused about which style I think I want to go for. It is important to for your dress to tie in with a theme? We are going for quite a vintage style wedding and one of the dresses, being lace would suit this much better.
However, the one I felt most amazing in was quite plain ivory taffeta which looks much more modern and classic bride.
I know I have many more dress shopping trips ahead of me but not sure whether I will ever be able to make a decision! Help!

Go for the one you look and feel amazing in! :j
Can you imagine looking in the mirror on your wedding day and saying to yourself, it's not as nice as the other dress, but at least it goes well with the decorations...?
In twenty years time no-one will remember the food, the music, the decorations, flowers and stationery. But you'll have a photo of you and you husband looking beautiful and very much in love.
(I thought I'd go for something really flouncy and ended up with something plain that makes me look good!

I agree with Babyboots.
Go with the dress you absolutely love. No one will even bat an eyelid that it isnt a vintage style dress, what people will notice is your confidence and happiness and having the right dress will definately impact this.
I thought I would go with something with loads of beading and detail with a small train and have actually gone for something really plain with quite a long train, but I feel fab in it and to me this means I will great and confident on the day, and just cant wait for my oh to see me in it!!0 -

I agree as well. *This* is the one... so far. x0 -
It seems weird to have a vintage theme if you're not wearing vintage, but I agree that you should pick the dress you like most.0

I wouldn't expect a rustic home-made style barn wedding to be attended by a bride in a big fat gypsy style crystallised dress as that would be a bit odd, but it depends on what you mean by vintage style.0

Lika - by vintage I really mean old English country tea party style the wedding is outside in an old red brick courtyard so it's quite rustic too.
Thank you for all the advice I think I do need to feel like its the best dress regardless and tbh Im not sure whether many of our guests would notice a slight style mis match!Becoming Mrs L. Aug 2013!
